Liam's First Day of 3rd Grade

How is it possible that my little man (excuse me, young man) is in 3rd grade already!?  Wasn't it just yesterday that he was 2yrs old yelling "Big truck big truck!" as we drove down the highway or adding "la" before every noun (ie: la train, la house).  I tried suggesting he go backward in grades this year and move back to 1st grade instead of moving on to 3rd, but not even the enticement of having his beloved Mrs Boone again could sway him.  So on to 3rd we go!  The big kids get to switch teachers halfway through the day, so Liam will have Mrs Thomason for ELA/ homeroom and Ms Pina for science and math.   Also new this year, is a complete shakeup of the kids in the 3rd grade.  In the past, even though the class rosters were "mixed" each year, there were still about half the kids who stayed together year to year.  This year Liam only vaguely knows two kids in his class.  Which those of you who know Liam, know this really isn't an issue! He will make friends with the cashier at the grocery store.  We are on the fourth full day of school and so far so good...he loves his teacher, is making new friends and is towing the line in the behavior department!  He has even remember all his assignments so far and his homework agenda is written neatly (knock on wood).  Tim and I are proud, proud parents!
