Halloween Adventures

Liam & Fiona were very excited about Halloween this year!  Liam decided to be a ninja and Fiona wanted to be a bat--"one that flies, not a baseball one!".  They had a fantastic time trick or treating with friends Carson, Maggie, Ira & Matthew and pulled in quite a haul!  We walked all over the neighborhood, saw a spooky graveyard, and the neighborhood haunted house which only three brave "big kids" went through (Miss Julie, Miss Kerry & Mr Jim).  Haven't laughed & screamed that hard in a long time!  I am not sure if they ate more candy along the way or after they got home, but getting up for school the next day was rough.

Fiona's Adventure at Dewberry Farms

Fiona's school has a field trip to Dewberry Farms (aka: Blueberry Farms) every October.  Fiona & Sabrina have been going together with Sonia & I since they were two!  The girls love going on a hayride to pick a pumpkin and there are lots of fun activities that they can't wait to do and always a few new ones they are thrilled to try.  Their favorite this year was knotted ropes attached to the ceiling of a pavilion filled with hay.  They are getting so big!

Liam's Fall Ball 2011

Liam has stolen Grampy's nickname this season--he is an Angel!  Liam's team had their first fall game today.  It was a tough one, but Liam did a good job.  He has been playing catcher and short stop and is fantastic in the field!  He is still refining his hitting, but definitely making progress.  More pictures in the catcher's gear next week.

Fiona's First Tball Game

Go Red Sox!!!  Fiona is so excited to play tball this fall.  She has taught everyone the Red Sox team cheer and insists on wearing her long red baseball socks with all her outfits.  Today was the big first game.  Each team takes two turns batting through their order and there are technically no outs, but each team actually got one or two.  During the first inning, Fiona and a boy on her team were standing side by side playing an unknown position somewhere between the pitching mound and second base and the boy turned to Fi and said: "Those ponytail holders make you look beautiful!"  In typical Fiona fashion, she reacted with complete indifference. Fiona had two good hits and ran after every ball that was hit--regardless of where it was hit to.  She was not happy when she didn't actually come out of the pile with the ball. It is going to be an interesting season!
